In the age where smart homes are quickly becoming a thing, I thought it was about time to just join the fray. And I have to say, I’ve been more impressed with the technology and abilities that a smart home has. With just one command, you can turn the lights on or off, turn the temperature up or down, and so many other tasks. Some of them can be done by the sound of your voice or by using a remote control that is either on your smartphone or a standalone remote itself.
When I was beginning my upgrade, I decided to do some research on a few things. I came across Sonoff by complete accident. But after learning what it was able to do, I decided to try it out for my house. Needless to say, I was pretty happy with the results. If you are considering upgrading your home to be a little “smarter”, Sonoff might be a good choice for you.

Compatible with Alexa, Google Home, etc.
These days, it’s “Alexa” or “Hey Google”. Either way, these devices are perfect for keeping things the way you want to set up with your smartphone. For example, you can tell Alexa to set the temperature to 70 if it gets a little cool. Or, I can tell Google to turn on the TV or turn it off when I’m finished.
Of course, it all depends on the device that I’m using. The good news is I am able to set it up so that I am able to use Alexa, Google Home, or Google Nest. It’s amazing what Sonoff can do to make sure that your home is at the right temperature and is able to control your humidity levels so that you don’t have to worry about mold growth, which is the result of high humidity in your home.
It’s amazing to have total control over your home be it with your remote or with the sound of your voice. I feel like I’ve arrived in the future using this to my advantage. Just be sure to find the right appliances that are compatible with your device or choice. Set up isn’t that complicated and syncing your phone with Sonoff can take minutes, not all day.
Check Your Status In Real-Time
Want to check to see if everything is turned on or off? Not a problem. I can just check my phone to see the status of every device. This is perfect for in case I forgot to turn off the lights or any appliance for that matter.
I’m a stickler for turning things off before leaving the house. Because I don’t want my energy bill to go sky high. Thankfully, there’s the built-in timer. I can set a timer to turn everything off while I’m heading off to bed. I can check to see what’s on or off any time, any place. Talk about convenience.
Android or iOS Compatible
In today’s society, a lot of people will rely on their mobile devices for just about everything. Most people will use Apple (like I do) and others will use Android (like my wife). But fortunately for the two of us, we are able to use the Sonoff controls on both of our devices.
And that ain’t a bad thing to have. Sure, some things are exclusive for Apple and vise versa. But when it comes to smart home controls, it’s nice to have it compatible with Android and Apple. Not everyone in the house will be using the same operating system.
And while we are on the subject of mobile compatibility, it’s compatible with 2G, 3G, and 4G networks. So if your device is compatible with either network, you don’t have to worry about device compatibility at all. And at some point, it might as well be 5G compatible considering the current technological developments surrounding that.
Comes With Some Extras
Sonoff has some extras that I can purchase separately if I want to. For example, I managed to get an LED light strip for my living room television. I’ve seen so many pictures of how great it looks. So I figured, why not give it a try. I can control the LED lights using the sound of my voice or the phone.
As long as it’s compatible with my device of choice, I can turn the lights on or off. They look really good whenever I’m watching TV. Plus, when I’m playing music using the Pandora app on my TV, the lights change and move with the music.
I can control the brightness, change it to one of the 16 million (yes, you read that right) color combinations, and able to schedule it to when it can be turned on or off. This is one of the perks of having a home that is modernized for the future. And I think I can say that I’m ready for it.

If you are looking to upgrade to a smarter home, then you’ll need to consider Sonoff as one of your best choices for controlling your entire home. I think it’s time to get with the times and never worry about whether you left the lights on at home. With one touch of the button, you can turn them off no matter where you are.
I can say that in a few years, a lot of people are going to look at making their homes a lot smarter. With security, peace of mind, and just a little bit of setting up here and there you can rely on Sonoff to make sure everything inside your house is in full working order and saving power in the process.
