I don’t know about you -- but I enjoy spending time outdoors. Especially when I go out on the water for a while. There are days when I would go to the lake with my canoe in tow and just paddle out and enjoy the peaceful and serene scene that surrounds me.

As someone who didn’t want to leave an old thing to sit and rot, I gave my son the canoe I had used for years. It’s still in good shape even to this day. I decided to check out what I could get online for a new canoe. I wasn’t too happy with the choices I saw.

Of course, you’re going to need paddles for kayaking as well. Another thing that I do not go out in the open water without is a lifejacket. You never know if and when you might tip over for some strange reason. But it’s good to have a fun time on the water.
However, I’m always going to stay on the safe side. I don’t care if you are the strongest swimmer in the world, wear a lifejacket and everything will be fine.
Racks and Trailers
Nine times out of ten, you’re going to need a rack or a trailer for your boat. My SUV has a rack that can fit my canoe or kayak (depending on what I want to use). Either way, it’s tough and reliable and can hold its own no matter how far we go.
Aside from your racks, you’ll obviously need some tie-downs and straps so they are secure for the ride. I remember one time when I was traveling with my canoe that it got a bit loose. Luckily it didn’t slip out and fall onto the roadway. But if you want to avoid disaster, don’t forget to get straps or tie-downs along with your rack.
Fishing Equipment
I can talk about fishing all day until I’m blue in the face. But if you’re like me, you want to be well-equipped for the entire season.
